Baker, who has asked En- vironment Minister Tony Brummett to back the DEATH BY FIRE district's bylaw banning logg- ing with provincial legisla- tion, said she will appear before the committee Friday morning. The district has opposed Grouse Mountain Resort Ltd. plans to log a 160-acre site on the mountain to raise needed finances. Freak accident claims NV woman A BIZARRE accident has resulted in the death of a 32- year-old North Vancouver woman. Maureen Schneeweiss suf- fered third-degree burns to 90 per cent of her body Mon- day evening while working on a car in the carport of her Mt. Seymour Parkway home. She was rushed to hospital shortly after 8 p.m. Monday and died there at 4 a.m. Tuesday. According to _ police, Schneeweiss was working in a mechanics pit under her car when a trouble light fell to the ground and broke.
