SOURCE OF THE FIRE was the electric range being examined in this picture by
North Van District Fire Inspector Grant Gibson. Fire raged quichly because of ex-
tensive use of cedar in construction of the house. Inspectors are still trying to
determine whether fire occurred as a result of an electrical fault or if a stove element

had been left turned on beneath an aluminum pot which was found melted. (Ellsworth

Fire guts N. Van house

FIRE which broke out at a

cupied Saturday evening
