The applause which followed the school board vote and an audience ques- tion period came from the overflow crowd in the coun- cil chamber’s public gallery. Meanwhile, oufside the building. the chymting and booing of an _ organized demonstration of over 100 students — barred from enternng by the fire marshal — were clearly audible in the chamber throughout the mecting. That is the opinion of City Engineer Alan Phillips, who told aldermen the so-called $250,000 saving in West Vancouver from private col- lection was the result of a “modified” service.
