IT’S NOT HOCKEY, but it is played on ice and the action is fast. This Ringette game was played Saturday at the West Vancouver Recreation Centre between the Optimist Ringers and the Langley Rowdies. Both teams play in the junior belles division of the Ringette league. (Terry Peters photo) north shore news ore holiday hockey winners SOMETIMES it’s tough writing sports stories. There you are, doing a wrap-up of North Shore minor hockey winners during tournaments held over Christmas. Simple, right? A few scores, game highlights, and there you are. Not quite. You wade through the _ lists of sometimes badly written and often cryptic results, make phone calls to find out missing scores, curse savagely about the com- plexity and number of the various tournaments, and finally sweat out the story. And then, more results from other or even the same tournaments trickle in and you have to write a second wrap-up, even though Christmas is now only a fast fading memory. But you have to do it — to be fair to those kids you left out at first. Finally all over, nght? - HUGH HAMILTON LTD. “ “ 120-116 East 3rd St. North Vancouver, B.C. ab GQ. Wrong. On January 13, several weeks after the last Christmas tournament was ended, another result comes in. A rather roundabout way of saying that the North Shore Winter Club Kings won the Burnaby Winter Club tournament Pee Wee championship. After losing their first game to Burnaby Minor, the Kings bounced back to win four consecutive games before meeting Burnaby Minor again for the championship game, which they won by a 6-2 score. Congratulations to the Kings, afl the other winners and indeed all the North Shore youngsters’ that participated in the many tournaments over the Christmas holidays. And if your particular team hasn't been mentioned by name and in the several stories that have been in the paper, profound apologies. But please don't send in any more results. It’s almost time to think about the 1982 Christmas tournaments. *Live Music* DINE = AND L” DANCE ~ & enjos the piano sivlings of TSRONE MORINE every Wed. Phurs, Pri,, Sar.
