By John Dafoe Contributing Writer During soccer action Saturday at Capilano College, the Malaspina Mariners took an early lead against the Capilane Blues. The 1-0 lead did not prove to be much of an advantage, though, as the Mariners spent the remainder of the first half fending off repeated charges by a_ inungry Blues offence. Only luck and hard work by the Malaspina netminder kept Capilano off the scoreboard until late in the half. A Capilano corner kick foliowed by a shot on goal resuited in a rebound that allowed Blue’s striker Tony Mobilio to put the ball into the Mariner's net. The I-1 tie at the half was hard- ly indicative of the play. The Blues dominated the half and permitted the Malaspina forwards few opportunities to handle the ball. Capilano’s defence was quick to smother Malaspina’s sporadic offensive surges. Early in the second half, Mike James, the Malaspina netminder, was downed with a muscle spasm Community North Vancouver Minor Hockey Association Team scores through Oct. 27 Atom ‘A’ North Vancouver. .6 Van.
