The run went very smoothly with the help of 80 vofunteers,’’ suid Savard. The three-event run was co- sponsored by the North Shore News with proceeds going to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation and the Lions Gate Medical Research Foundation. Runners in the 10-kilometre run numbered 250 with Paul Williams of Vancouver placing first overali in the men’s. Williams’ time was 29 minutes and 41 seconds. He won $800. The top overall female was Vancouver’s Cindy O’Krane, 35:17, who also won $800. North Vancouver's Bernadette Duffy placed second in the fernale overall, 36:00, winning $300. Duf- fy’s time placed her second in the female 26-34 division. Also in the top-ten femules overall was cighth-placed Bonni Walker from North Vancouver with a time of 38:22. Walker’s Run results time placed her second in the fe- male 35-49 division. In the 10-kilometre under-18 division North Vancouver's Mat- thew Rayburn (38:17) placed se- cond in the males’ while North Vancouver's Andrea Reid (60:19.) placed first in females”. Other North Vancouver runners placing in the top five of their 10-kilometre run division included Neil Wakelin, 34:37, third in male 40-49; Debra Cummings, 45:02, fifth in female 35-49; and Kim Reid, 50:59, first in the female 18-19. Male 50-plus included second- place Donald Lang (48:05.) four- th-place Mel lus (50:54) and fif- th-place Robert Manning who all reside in North Vancouver. The Richmond fajaks won $500 for team results. Lions Gate Road Runners were second: Sussex Realty [ was third; North Vancouver District Dynamos, fourth; North Shore Credit Union, fifth: Finning Fast Cats. sixth and Sussex Realty I! was seventh. Besides the 10-kilometre run, a five-kilometre family walk and a two-kilometre kidwalk rounded out the activities.
