Enhancement plans presented

CONCEPTUAL PLANS for the
Lions Gate North (LGN) en-
hancement project were presented
by the LGN committee at a public
information meeting held last
Thursday.

“We showed a refinement of
what the consultants had devel-
oped for us earlier, and it was all
well received by the people who at-
tended,’’ reported committee

chairman Joseph Cantafio.

With the finalization of their
report detailing ways of improving
the Lions Gate Bridge's gateway
area to the North Shore, commit-
tee members plan tc present their
proposal to ali three North Shore
municipal councils in early May.

Cantafio was not ready to
discuss what the cost estimates for
the project would be.

District Waterworks crews will be cleaning and flushing water mains §
in the Norgate Area, between May ist and May 12th, 1989. As a
result your water pressure may vary considerably and the water

m become discolored by sediment stirred up by the cleaning process.

f This discoloration will be of relatively short duration and should }
disappear within twenty-four hours or less.

It will be necessary for us to turn off the water supply for several

§ hours, on a street by street basis, but twenty-four hours before the
water is turned off a notice will be hand delivered to those residences
that will be affected. Please read and follow the instructions on the
notice and, should you have any questions, please contact the
District's Engineering Department at 984-4381. We apologize for any

M inconvenience that may be caused but this is an important part of
our maintenance work and is designed to preserve the high quality §

of your water supply.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this clean-
