[am a parent who is getting in-
creasingly concerned about the
decline of moral standards taking
place today,

There are three things upmost in
mind: the alarming inerease in
sexual abuse with children, the
high rate of alcoholism, and the
fact Vancouver has one of the
highest per capita drug problems in

Dear Editor:

Your editorial column Who
Decides, and your reference that
the quality of life should decide
whether or not a child should live
or die. This brings to mind exactly
what occurred in Germany when
Hitler and his followers decided
who should live and who should be
exterminated.

Thank God there was an
outspoken minority even in
Hitler’s Germany or there would
be no Jewish or handicapped peo-
ple left to remind us when certain
human beings decide what their in-
terpretation of the quality of life
should be!

School Board to hold some public
forums on the issues } have men-
tioned, so that we the parents can
sve first hand how these programs
are presented in our schools, and 1
hope all other concerned parents
will do the same.
