children with so many festivities taking

council meeting because the
public was possibly unaware
the discussion was taking
place. . ;

The lease on the stand
must be renewed for the
summer but, although
council seemed generally

favorable to renewing the

lease, Alderman Diana
Hutchinson said it wasn’t fair
to pass the item without
hearing from the neighbors
who were so angry last
summer.

Mayor Derrick Hum-
phreys said, “We'll never
please all the people all the
time,” but all the council

‘members voted to table the

item for two meetings.

After the vote, a neigh-
bour of the stand spoke in
favor of it and said the item
had been adequately ad-
vertised in the North Shore
News.

Discussion will continue in
January and will be ad-
vertised in the Agenda
Highlights section of the
News.

Season's Greetings from Hamilton -Fell

A CHRISTMAS card was
presented to North Van-
couver City council
members Monday night.

“Season’s Greetings”, it
read, and it as from
“Hamilton -Fell”.

But the Christmas scene
that was carefully and ar-
tistically drawn on the card
did not exactly represent a
pastoral turn-of-the-century
wonderland.
