One of the questions non-
campers most frequently ask
us is: “What do you do about

the bugs when you go
camping?”

Tents and RVs. are
screened, of course, but

since you're going to the
outdoors actually to be
outdoors, you're going to
encounter the little critters.

Fortunately, we don't
have to rely on the insect
“remedies” of the old days,
which required rubbing the
body with such things as
bear oil, pine tar oil, raw
onion and kerosene. Science
has developed some fine
msect repellént sprays and
lotions that do an effective
job. You should try several
until you find the one that
works best for you. We have
found that Deep Woods Off!
does the job for us, but you
should expenment on your
own.

Spray the inside of your
tent or RV with insect spray
about 30 minutes before
poing to bed to get rid of
mosquitoes that have
sneaked in. Close or zip the
door whenever you go in or
out, and instruct children to
do likewise.
