Water and hope mark Trans Canada Trai

“A pathway into the
millennium” are the

exact words for the
Trans Canada Trail.

An event that brings us,
Canada, as a country togeth-
er to celebrate with joy the
heartwarming, spirit of the
Trans Canada Trail Relay
2000.

These are the days of the
future, the new millennium,
as our world jeins together
and works as a team, to stop
violence, to encourage family
and friends, and it’s all begin-
ning with the Trans Canada
Trail.

The tail is a Canadian
event that was created eight
years ago. Because of this
idea, councils were formed,
and images began to be

‘placed together.

Up to this time, the terri-
tories and provinces have

been working very hard to

make this all possible.

On that occasion, water
from the Arctic Ocean was
filled into a vessel.

On April 7, the same
thing happened in Victoria,
where water was poured into
a vessel from the Pacific
Ocean.

Sometime in May, the
equivalent circumstance will
further
Adiantic Ocean.

The trail is 16,100 kilo-
metres (16,000 miles) long.
It was finished April 12, with
just a bit of finishing touch-
ups.

The relay began April 13,
and was scheduled to start in
Horseshoe Bay at 8 a.m.,
where the water vessels
would be carried by runners
and cars.

The relay team wouldn’r
only be carrying the vessels,
though -— they would be car-
rying the joy, the spirit, and
the excitement of being
Canadian.
