Bob Mackin News Reporter A woman who fell from the second floor of Park Royal Golf Centre’s driving range lost her damage claim in B.C. Supreme Court. Denise Felix was secking compensation for back injuries she suflered after falling, 12-13 feet on Sept. 28, 1996. She mis-hit a ball which landed on an awning and tried to retrieve it with her golf club. She testitied that she bent over on the third atrempt and fell onto the awning and Jand- ed on her back on the ground below. The ball was within a toot of the platform’s edge, but Felix didn't want to get on her hands and knees to reach it because of the clothes she was wearing. The awning, said Justice F.A. Melvin in his July 7 oral decision, was not designed as a safety device nor was it a structure capable of holding a person's weight.
