‘Caribbean Days party

NORTH Vancouver's Waterfront Park
will be transformed into an island of
festivity Sunday, July 28.

On that day, the ninth annual Caribbean
Days Festival will bring the sights and sounds
of the islands to the North Share.

Activities take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
at the park, which is located just west of the
SeaBus terminal at Lonsdale Quay.

Caribbean music, stecl bands and dancers
will provide the focus for the event, performing

from two covered stages in the park. Smaller,
open-sided tents will house food, clothing, arts
and crafts native to the Caribbean.

The festival, presented by the Trinidad and
Tobago Cultural Society of B.C., follows on
another Caribbean Days event, Saturday, July
27, at the Plaza of Nations in Vancouver,
Highlights of “Plazarama” include a costume
parade of bands and a limbo fire dance.
Tickets for that event are $25 while the festi-
yal at Waterfront Park is free.
