Making the influential aware of needy is local man's goal TWO YEARS ago David Foster had a dream to help the needy on the North Shore, but lacked necessary connec- tions. Now the dream is cn its way to coming true. Following success of the North Shore Community Christmas Din- ner, the local resident — who calls himself “the other David Foster"’ to distinguish him from the famed record producer/singer — founded the Change the World Foundation, Serving as a rallying point for individuals and businesses — such as Save-On-Foods, which was the major contributor to the dinner — the foundation aims to try to ad- dress social problems on the North NORTH Shore sesident David Foster...“‘This Change the World Foundation will be the vehicle to bring the influence and power of the businesspeople to wipe (pover- ty) out.” Pointing to the estimated 1,500 needy families on the North Shore, Foster, 27, said that the key to im- proving the situation is making people aware of it. “They have the influence and the power to wipe out this situa- tion,’’ Foster said of local business people. “If somebody isn’t bringing this vision to them then nothing gets done.
