Hearing set in ropbery charge A PRELIMINARY hearing has been set for two North Vancouver men charged with robbery. Terrance Raymond Cyr, 31, and John Joseph Lloyd Laramee, 32, appeared Tuesday in North Vancouver provincial court to face the charge laid against them in connection with a Sept. 11 incident in which a man was allegedly confronted with a gun on East Se- cord Street in North Vancouver. Appearing before Judge J.D. Layton, the two were remanded to Oct. 1 for a pretiminary hearing on the charge. Negotiations are stil continuing between Cannell Studios and officials from the International Association of Theatre and Stage Employees (IATSE), but to press time Friday, both parties could not give details of the talks’ progress. If the rezoning for the shopping centre and the film studio is passed Monday, “acceptable labor agreements will be the only significant remaining issue,’* Cannell Studios president Michael Dubelko said in a letter to company workers. But shopping centre developer BCE Development Corp. says it is confident the project. will proceed as planned, with construction likely starting in January. “Pm confident Cannell’s going to be able to deliver...f don’t believe it’s going to stow us down,”’ said BCED shopping centre general manager Don Wright. If the studio does back out of the plan, BCED must find another industrial partner for the site or forfeit its $250,000 security deposit with the city.
