Moore Rink wins playdowns THE LINDA Moore curling rink won the A-side of the District One playdowns during play Saturday at the North Shore Winter Club. The North Vancouver rink defeated Karen Lepine’s Roya! Ci- ty rink 6-4 to take the A-side and defeated Lepine 7-4 to take the B- side. Moore and her rink of Lindsay Sparkes, Debbie Jones and Janice Fowler will now proceed to Fort Nelson ‘for the Jan. 29 to Feb. 4 provincial playdowns. The Moore rink advanced to Saturday’s final by virtue of an 11-4 victory over Betty Raymond of Royal City. In the senior women’s playdown, the North Shore Winter Club’s Lorraine Baron rink, which includes Mae Shugg, Maria Johnston and Dorothy Lyle, beat the fellow North Shore rink of Bess Low 8-4 to take the senior A-side and defeated Bernice Mulock, also of the North Shore, 10-8 to win the B-side.
