Phil Chernov and Bill Birney have been molding this team all season, and they have come together as a major threat in the league. Last year’s glory team — the Capilano Lions are not enjoying the season they had in 1983. Three losses in their last three outings tell the story. But, and many of us have seen it happenover the year’s, playoffs are a whole new season. In Capilano Jr. Baseball Pony ‘‘B’’, it has been a fascinating season. Chevron has come on strong in the past few weeks after a falter- ing start with the team com- player of the game for Nerth Shore while the Richmond goalkeeper received the nod for his performance in keep- ing the score down. And if, by chance, the game had ended in a draw, and corner kicks would decide the winner, look at those statistics: North Shore had 10 corners while Rich- mond managed but one. Next game for North Shore is June 27 before the Whitecaps take on Chicago Sting.
