From previous pane The holes were filled, the walls were primed and the paint process began. In my daughter's room we decided to keep the fireplace mantle white and paint over the pink tles with taupe. The theme of the room was to be a garden with birdhouses. Green, Taupe and white work wonderfully in unison to achieve this effect. The: ceilings and all window ims were painted antique white to complement the green walls. As a final touch we placed some pickets in front of the fireplace to act as a faux screen, Carpet was laid and a new ceil- ing light fixture was installed. In the planning process are some drapes and a curtain to close off the closet area. My son’s room faces west with one window positioned very close to the ground. We found that the angled roof hnes added a lor of character to the room’s design and made for some interesting decorating options. The green paint worked in this room due to the position of the windows. Fortunately, a significant amount of natural light makes its way into the room off-setting the sage green paint and giving the room a very comfortable and bright feel. The ceiling and win- dow trims were painted white and new carpet was laid. All in all it was a fairly easy cosmetic renovation for these two rooms. ’m sure over time they will become bored with the rooms and we’ll have to change them. Hopefilly that won’t be for a while.
