Sunday, June 7 , 1998 — North Shore News — 19 | Abandoned Westview Study on again Jolanda Waskito Contributing Writer NORTH Vancouver City Council voted 5-2 Monday to resume and complete the Westview Area Planning Study at an additional cost of $2,000 — tnvo months after it was ordered aborted. The study was nearly com- plete until a unanimous coun- cil — minus absent councillors Barbara Sharp and Darrell Mussatto — voted to hale the study on April 6 after a dele gation of residents living our- side the study areca urged council to abandon the study because they were not can sulted. That move has cost the city additional money now that it wants to resume the study, which will examine the impacts of the new Westview interchange on area residents, review land uses, and propase alternatives and ~ possible changes to the Official Community Plan. The city had a contract with consultants David Naime and Associates to complete the study for $25,000. But the consultants were no longer bound to the con- tract after the city informed them it wanted the study ter- minated. Resuming and completing the study will cost an addi tional $2,000.
