. Dear Editor:

Ir was with great disappointment that Tread your front page
article about Fiesta Mexicana restaurane in the Aug. 3 North
Shore News. | write this letter as someone who cats out regular-
ly at many North Shore restaurants,

In addition, 1 am a health care professional with antennae fine-
fined to notice hazards to food safety resulting from poor

“hygiene in any eatery I visit. | have observed cecasional infrac-
tions that raised’ my eyebrows at several North Shore establish-
ments. [have even seen mice running across the rafters above my
plate in a popular Whistler restaurant. However, in 10 years as a
frequent customer, I have never witnessed any lapse of cleanliness
at Fiesta Mexicana and remain convinced that this restaurant is
run in an exemplary manner to ensure customer safety, events of

What really concerned me was the rather mean-spirited man-
ner in which the good reputation of this long-established family
business was jeopardized by giving front Page status to a minor

. Fiesta Mexicana i is a wonderful asse¢ to the North Shore with
possibly the most authentic: Mexican cuisine in Vancouver pre-
- pared in-a home-cooked ‘style. It is a feather in the cap of the
excellent restaurant district that is shapi ing up in central Lorisdale.
‘ Regular and new clientele would be wise to choose to ignore
‘our article and to close their eyes for a fantasy moment back in
‘Mexico: while.’ savoring. traditional: dishes such as Mole
Oaxaz xaqueno at Enchiladas Suizas verdes.
