Prior to the election, a right- wing special interest group was formed with the specific aim of ensuring my defeat at the polls and to eliminate what they have long considered a thorn in their side. Either directly or indirectly, they sponsored a slate of candidates which included all members of council (except me} plus new- comers to gain complete control of council. They did not succeed. Needless to say, I will continue to work to the best of my ability for the interests of the community and not for the benefit of any right-wing pressure group and their spokespersons on district council.
