Ferries Corporation carried a record number of vehicles and passengers in 1986. From January to December 1986, 5,119,868 vehicles and 14,722,760 passengers were trans- ported over 26 routes by the cor- poration. The figures represent a 14.63 per cent increase in vehicle and a 22.52 per cent increase in passengers car- ried over the same 12-month period in 1985. From Horseshoe Bay to Depar- ture Bay, vehicle and passenger traffic increased 12.92 and 19.92 per cent respectively over 1985. Vehicle traffic was up 9.89 per cent and passenger traffic was up 12.49 per cent in 1986 over 1985 on the Horseshoe Bay to Langdale B.C. Ferries run. With ‘the passenger increase, food consumed on B.C. Ferries also increased dramatically.
