Well last Friday might,
after | visited the Cafe des

Alpes tor the first time. I pat-
ted mvself on the back tor
making such a wise decision
and venturing forth for anew
experience

The Cafe des Alpes is
located at 1408 Marine Drive
in West Vancouver It 1s
rather small as it only seats
about sixty people But,
other than the awkward dou-
ble door entrance to the
establishment | found it to
have a nice warm, cozy feel-
ing and was impressed by the
food and fnendly, competent
service

We ordered a pre-dinner

drink, then selected the
salade mimosa ($3.50) and
the half avocado covered

with crab and a creamy bran-
dy sauce ($4 50) The hors
d'oeuvres, soups and salads
are priced trom $2 2510 4.95

For the main courses there
are ample choices. There are

CAFE des Alpes, in West Vancouver, inside the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
