Presently busy launching his own company and re- establishing his roots in B.C., he has already been offered similar overseas asSignments in two developing nations and confesses to having been half tempted. An 1968 M.A. tn economics from Simon Fraser University after working for 13> years with Chevron Ou in Vancouver, Garth spent four years as Coordinator of Economics and Geography at Capilano College, as well as being its director of community services on the North Shore. In 1972 he was given a two year leave of absence to be sent by the Canadian Inter- national Development Agency as transport adviser to the three East Afncan Community countries” of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. However, in 1974 Kenya asked for his services ex- clusively. He was employed by the World Bank and seconded to the Kenya government as head _ of planning for transport and energy.
