On july 11 she was work- ing a night shift when she was dispatched to a call of a deer hit by a car in the 3000- block of Dollarton Highway. At the scene she found 3 three-month-old baby deer suffering from unknown injuries. Area conservation officers were busy elsewhere and the SPCA could not get to her immediately so she called for another member to assist her. She wrapped the deer in her rain cape and held it in her lap while the other offi- cer, Const. Norman, drove to the Emergency Animal Clinic in Vancouver.
