“Equality” is the mantra of politi-
cal. correctness, Till death do us part.

There wouldn't have been a
whisper if it had been wen who had
been stripped and clapped into hand-
cuffs, Not even if it had been women
who did it, assuming that they could.

Not too long ago a male prisoner
complained that female guards were
watching him and others in the
shower and sitting on the john and
having a good laugh over it.

He took the matter to court. It
wasn’t right, he said. Forget it, they
said.

Unisex triumphant. We are all
equal, Female guards, male guards.
Makes no difference. Guards are
guards. (Sorry! I mean correctional
officers.)

Did I say these babes were
tough? That was an understatement.

. They had Jong criminal records and

were violent. According to a report
in the Globe & Mail. one was serv-
ing four years for stabbing a taxi dri-
ver while trying to rob him,

Another was serving five years
for tying a man’s hands behind his
back, beating him with a baseball
bat, and threatening to cut off his
penis unless he revealed the personal
identification number for his bank
card, -

A teal lady, that one. I'm sur-
prised they didn’t make her a sena-
tor, like the Jamaican gal who helped
to destroy Sir George Williams
University in that student riot in the
late *60s.

Another was in for life for killing
an inmate while serving a sentence
for armed robbery. Still another was
in for 15 years for stabbing a 63-

_ year-old man 18 times. Talk about
the dirty dozen! Yet a report done by
a correctional investigator recom-

mended that these brutesses be given

compensation for the “wrongs” they
suffered, Typical.

‘The Elizabeth Fry Society has
stated that these denizens of darkest
Canada were “frustrated, angry and
hostile.”

Too bad. They shouldn't have
qualified themselves for jail.

Truc, some of them had been
locked up for 23 hours a day. But -
that didn't happen for nothing. They
had pleaded guilty to assault,
attempting to escape and other
offences.

What did they expect? A free
flight to the nearest Club Med? ff
our do-gooders had their way, that's
what they would get. Depend upon

A Nicole Parton story in the Sun
quoted a fem murderer as complain-
ing that “women are emotional
beings” and that when they go to
prison they are expected to be men.

What's that? We're not all equal
after all?

A prison source claimed these
gals were groggy on home brew. As
for their being stripped, anyone who
is dealing with crazies wants their
clothes off so as to be sure he
doesn’t get a razor blade in the eye.

The antics in the girls’ cell block
could hardly be compared with tid-
dlywinks. They were setting sheets
and paper on fire and doing many

other things that are not done in the
best of circles.

“Metal brackets torn trom beds
and slung inside pillowcases made ~
weapons that could be swung
between the bars of cells," stated the

Globe, “and staff who tried to douse ©

the fires were pelted with urine and
feces.”
