Kokanee

THE NORTH Shore Kokanee
players opened their home sched-
ule with a 3-0 defeat at the hands
of Burnaby Marine Pub in Van-
couver Metro Mens Division HU
soccer action last weekend.

Several of the Kokanee players
believe they walked under ladders
or had been crossed by black cats
as the North Shore side
squandered several opportunities
and were just plain ‘unlucky as two
unfriendly posts stopped shots.

Marine Pub players were deadly
on the few chances they had, and
getting the goals were: Bill
Jackson, Doug Thomas and Marty
Horbulyk.

Other weekend Division II play
involving North Shore teams saw
Western Realty top Point Grey
Rangers 5-1, the Cliff Avenue
Ashfords beat Shoppers Park
Royal 3-2, the Kilmer Sailors
doubled F.C. Porto 2-1 and St.
Columbus defeated West Van
Royals 5-1.
