the shape of the diamond.

Cut, to the diamond cutter or

of the diamond's many facets. The
shape of the diamond denotes the
top view contour or silhouette of
the diamond. The most attractive

The diamond shape was largely
the same, but there were fewer and
greatly imperfect polished facets
due to the technical restrictions of
the cutter’s equipment and human
error. Because of this, early
polished diamonds did not possess
the same fiery brilliance as they do
now.
