student from Fruitvale, have been

chosen as designers for the 1986

Save the Children Fund (SCF) of

B.C. Christmas card collection.

They join the ranks of B.C, ar-
tists like Peter Ewart, Gathie Falk
and Lyn Noble in helping to raise
funds for children worldwide.

Last year British Columbians
raised $46,000 by buying
Christmas cards from SCF. With
tripled matching funds from the
Canadian International Develop-
ment Agency, this money went
toward projects in countries like
Honduras where an effective in-
stallation and maintenance pro-
gram for clean drinking water in
remote areas is ongoing.

A tuberculosis contro! project in
Chiapas, Mexico is another reci-
pient of B.C. support.

Funds raised this Christmas will
go toward clean water projects and
nutrition gardens in Zimbabwe,
and other projects that help
children to become healthy
members of their communities.

Students participating in the an-
nual Save the Children Fund
design search, which was con-
ducted throughout B.C. schools,
can feel they have contributed to
the well-being of less fortunate
children, as well as having their art
