The most outstanding aspect of the decor, and worth a visit in itself, is the frequently-changing collec- tion of photographs taken by the owner, a talented artist with a camera. The Leek and Potato Soup — $2.25 — was thick and tas- ty, with, no shortage of either leek or potato in a good stock. A hearty, simple coutry soup which one would expect to find in a French village. 1 felt, however, that it should have been made with half the salt as it reduced while cooking, concentrating everything — salt included. The ‘Grilled Weisswurst, with lots of fried onions and jus’’ was interesting. It look- ed colorful when presented — with red peppers and other vegetables sourrounding iwo large herbed white sausages fried with onions. The por- tion was generous enough, and at only. $4.25 it was fairly priced. I would have preferred that the vegetables had been sauteed in less butter. To my surprise the room was filled 15 minuies later, and virtually emply aga:n by 1:30. As the waiter seemed to know many of the customers, it seems a regular Junch trade has already built up.
