Both North Shore Cricket teams were in action on Saturday. NSCC first team played Brockton Point CC at Lower Brockton in beautiful conditions and a good wicket. The Brockton Club opened the batting and put up 122 runs. NSCC missed several opportunities in the field, but steady bowling by Ken Bradshaw, and later two wickets by Howard Griffiths finally put away the Brockton batters. During the fielding for NSCC Peter Pisani behind the wicket also contributed a fine stumping and two catches in support of the good conditions, and were all out for 58. This game went the full time for a draw, with Vancouver CC batting first to 125 runs and NSCC holding on to 9 wickets for 68 runs to earn the draw at the close of play. Highlights of NSCC _ bat- ting were openers veteran Mounts competitive The new North Shore Mountviews haven't won in their first three games but they have served notice to the Pacific Metro League that they will be more than competitive. They played well enough to win in all three games but a lack of playing time together hurt them in the end. A 4-1 loss to Burnaby, a 4-3 loss to Vancouver Puc- cinis and a darkness halted 5-5 tie with Pharoahs all could have gone either way. Mounts got solid pitching performances from rookies Mort Bajus and Steve Solhoski but a few untimely walks and errors cost them leads against Pharoahs and Puccinis. Barry Penman has con- tributed some great power hitting and driven in most of the RBI's however the rest of the bats are starting to come around. The games should become more and more ex- citing as the Mounts gain ex- perience.
