Cowie’s Garden Spider, made from — discarded propane tanks, motorcycle chains and other reclaimed metals, was among 11 carr received by the NSRP as pare ofa “people’s choice” votre at the annual Delbrook Christmas Cratt Fair on Nov. 20, where all of the pieces were displayed. The competition aims to not only promote waste reduction during the holiday season, but to continue the forging of links between the arts and environmental edu- cation communities. Other entries in the Green Christmas competition included Kaija Suni’s Rag Rag, Grobam Eagle's Old Mexico, Tookie Mussatto’s Tin Airplanes and Cars and Patty Fentie’s Derim Jacket. “The quality of the entries was top-notch, and the sense of fun and functionality exemplified by the works rst won the artists a lot of fans. The public loved it not only do these people create woodertul works of art, but they encoura discussion about the environmental issues facing all of us,” said H Schimp!, NSRP com- munity programs coordina- tor.
