District compost spe-
cialists have made
great strides in getting
homeowners to set up
compost bins to recy-
cle kitchen waste and
garden refuse.

In spite of this concerted
effort, there is still a
tremendous amount of
green waste, particularly
lawn clippings, going into
the transter station.

For those people who
have not, or cannot, install a
compost ’in or find they
have an excess of lawn clip-
pings, there is a solution to
their problem: mulch mow-
ing.
