Anti-inflammatories, which are “often steroid preparations and thus have the potential for side effects, have traditionally been used to treat inflammation. The newest, non-steroid, anti- inflammatory medication available in Canada is nedocromil (Tilade). Experts suggest the drug should prove. to be advantageous for the overall treatment of asthma. Work under the contract will maintain two jobs until July 3!, 1993. - BUSINESS KICKS OFF A NEW business has opened its doors on the North Shore to cater to the needs of martial arts and fitness buffs. The North Shore Tae Kwon Do Centre, 53 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver, is operated by Darrer Clarke and Hallie Lecker, who hold third and second-degree black belts respectively. The duo offer instruction and training in tae kwon do for beginners through to advance stu- dents, for both children and adults. Classes are held in the evenings, Mondays through Fri- days and on Saturday mornings. Prior to opening their own club, Clarke and Lecker taught tae kwon do through the North Van- couver Recreation Centre. They still compete in competitions and Lecker was the 1991 national champion in her weight division. There are currently over 100 students taking classes at the North Shore Tae Kwon Do Cen- tre.
