Battle brewing over
Northlands golf course

NORTH VANCOUVER
District residents upset over
the possible loss of a plan-
ned neighborhood in the
Seymour area to the pro-
posed $7-million Northlands
golf course called Tuesday
night tor a district-wide ref-
erendum on the issue.

Seymour Official Community
Plan that would allow for a golf
course and residential housing to
be subdivided out of an area that
is presently designated as an “area
under review."

And while speakers in favor of
the Northkinds golf course pro-
posal ournumbered opponents
three to wo, representatives of
various community proups
demanded a public referendum be
called to decide the Northhinds
issue.

The call for a Northkinds refer-
endum follows the defeat ina
Nov. 17 referendum of a 27-hole,
$20-million golf course proposed
for West) Viarecourer’s Cypress
Ridve urea.
