Sirloiner’s kids’ menu ‘a bargain’

A sarapled seven-ounce Sirloin
Steak Dinner ($7.99) came with a
side of builed green beans and a
baked potato.

The meat was grilled close to
rare specifications. It was thick
and juicy.

My baked potato, though piled
with the proverbial ‘‘works’’, was
a tough old spud, long on buix,
but short on flavor.

Overall, it was a basic, economic
meal.

The Sirloiner’s children’s menu
is a bargain hunter’s delight. A
steak from the $2.49-five-item
selection included meat, French
fries and cherry tomatoes and, for
dessert, a double scoop of ice
cream coated in chocolate sauce.

Other children’s menu items in-
clude Burger, Cheeseburger, Hot-
dog and Fish and Chips.

Scheduled to run from 4 p.m. to
9 p.m. Oct. 23, this festival for the
ever-increasing number of amateur
wine stewards and grape sniffers
will feature more than 200 dif-
ferent varieties of red, white, rose
and sparkling wines from B.C.,
Chile, Israel, the United States,
France, Australia, Bulgaria,
Argentina and many more.

The festival is being organized
by Kiwanis in conjunction with the
Import Vinters Association of
B.C

Admission will be $12 and will
include four wine-tasting tickets.

Profits from the festival will go
to support such Kiwanis projects
as the Children’s Hospital and

housing for senior citizens.

Tickets are available at Bufton’s
Flowers on plaza level four of the
Bentall Centre or from any Van-
couver Kiwanis Club member.
