Appreciate at ecclogy ENVIRONMENT CANADA has proclaimed this week Environment Week and local groups are par- ticipating to spread the message that environment is everyone’s responsiblity. Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre and Environment Canada are co- sponsoring a number of free activ- ities at the centre, 3663 Park Road in North Vancouver. Park nature waiks are taking place every day at 2 p.m. and nature films are being shown throughout the day. Each of the following events will ‘happen at 3:30 p.m.: Wednesday, June 3 — rock animal crafts for children; Thursday, June 4 — build bird feeding stations; Friday, June 5 — build nest boxes; Sunday, June 7 — sketch in the park. On Saturday, June 6, Maplewood Mudflats wilt be the focus of a conservation project. The mudflats, also known as Mc- Cartney Marsh, are located on Burrard Inlet, south of the Dollar- ton Highway and two kilometres east of the Second Narrows Bridge. A number of organizations will nature centre be involved in upgrading trails, planting trees and shrubs and cleaning up garbage. The public is invited to take part and bring boots, gloves, a lunch and lots of energy. The project will begin at 10 a.m. and continue all day. Parking is available on the north side of Dollarton Highway, just east of the Crab Shack.
