Bridge smash

charges laid

A WOMAN whose car was struck by a vehicle from the
opposite direction which went out of control in the
centre lane of Lions Gate Bridge Monday evening was
admitted to St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver with

serious head injuries.

Martha Maria Gromer,
aged 44, of 3223 West
Sixth Avenue, in Van-
couver, was driving a
1973 Volkswagen beetle
southbound when it was
struck by a Dodge pickup
travelling north at 7:10
p-m.

The driver of the
pickup, Wayne Allan
Nadon, aged 30, of 1452
Doran Road, North Van-
couver, was taken into
custody and appeared in
West Vancouver provin-
cial court Tuesday.

He was charged with
dangerous driving, im-
