Story and Photos y ELLSWORTH DICKSON Today's Feature Home is located in the picturesque community of Cypress Park Estates, which is north of the Calulfeild area, above the Upper Levels, in West Vancouver. With the aid of designer Zoltan Picdl, the house was planned to “fit" into the natural terrain of the rocky hillside lot. There are five bedrooms, a library, a study, a family room, a marble fireplace, a giant’ sundeck, patio and a double car port. With = the southerly ox posure, the Stephans have NORTH SHORE found they seldom use the hot water heating in the daytime, the house naturally being able to capture and retain the sun’s heat. Although the house took only four months to build, with the whole family pit- ching in, as well as some of the work contracted out, the landscaping is still going on, a mammoth project in itself, with countless thousands of rocks and stones making up numerous rock walls. A recent change’ was moving the kitchen to the western side ofthe house and installing Italian cabinets, a ‘built-in convection oven and a neat Thermador Cook ‘n' Vent counter-top stove whose vent rises electrically out of the counter.
