The main lessons of the Waldorf curriculum, given during
the first ‘two hours of the morning, cover the students
academic education and are taught by the class teacher,
ideally through the first eight grades. Other lessons during
the day are taught by specialist subject teachers.

By staying together for the full eight years, the teacher can
get co know all the children as individuals; their capabilities,
their needs, their diffqrent rates of growth and learning.

This allows several things to develop. One is a good social
atmosphere among the children. Also, the curriculum can a
unfold’ rather than progress according to pre-determined -
calendar dates. The students’ progression through the
curriculum, from primary grade material to junior high
school level, is conducted as a response to the developing
needs and capabilities of each individual student.
