Tax receipts will be issued. Gifts in the form of new articles are also welcome. The association recommends gifts such as $40 rebate (Ofer valid until Decemther 31, 1991}. clothing, toiletry, games and mis- cellaneous items such as mugs, tote bags, umbrellas, and books. Men's gifts are especially needed. Gifts should not be wrapped so the appropriate gift can be more easily selected for the recipient. All gifts should reach the office by Dec. 9. Collection can be ar- ranged if necessary. Dental survey to compare results with five years ago PEOPLE AGED 16 or older with dental appointments scheduled for Dec. 2, will become part of a province-wide, one-day dental health survey. The survey is being conducted by the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C. in cooperation with the ministry of health and the Univer- sity of B.C. to monitor the denta! health of adults in B.C. Results of the study will be compared to a similar survey done Dec. 2, 1986 when more than 10,900 adults were examined, $65 rebate (Offer valid until March 31, 1992). Findings of that study revealed that most young adults had a good chance of keeping all their teeth for life. However, according to the study, close to: 70% of older adults had, or required, replace- ments for missing tecth. This fin- ding was used as a focus of dental treatment in the short term. Periodontal disease, a condition of deteriorating gums, was thought to be the most significant cause of tooth loss in adults.
