THE NORTH Vancouver inventor
of the revolutionary Newtsuit at-
mospheric diving suit and other
underwater technological
breakthroughs, such as the Urchin
and Deep Rover submersibles, was
honored Sunday by his interna-
tional colleagues in a celebratory
banquet in New Orleans.

Phil Nuytten, president and
founder of the North Shore-based
Can-Dive Services Lid. and Inter-
national Hard Suits Inc., received
the Galleti Award at the dinner
from the Association of Diving
Contractors (ADC).

He was the first Canadian ever
to receive the award.
