It recently taised about $9,000 for the school's multi-cultural program, from a Concorde trip raffle prize. A plaque of appreciation was awarded to market man- ager Colleen Welsh by school principal Audrey Hobbs. The mall donated space to the school so tickets could be sold, and was the location of its draw last week. In the background are fund raisers Tom Sentes and Lyan . Simpson . The the © fund- -raising , For the Concorde trip, Sentes said, parents put up $10,000 themselves — the cost of the trip — in order to ensure that it would take place. That money was returned to them after the ticket sales. 1,760 SOLD Of the 3,000 tickets printed, 1,700 were sold. Parents and stu- dents sold the tickets on weekends at Lonsdale Quay, where the draw was made last Sunday. “IF we had longer time I think we would have gone over,’’ ‘said Sentes. ; “But we're very pleased with the effort done by the people in the - community. We’re particularly ‘pleased with the help from the people at Lonsdale Quay.
