WHEN the Vancouver design
team of Irene Booiman and
Horst Schueler decided to
produce a_ collection of
sophisticated suits, dresses
and separates for the ready-
to-wear market they brought
together the key elements
that had given them recogni-
tion and strength in haute
couture.

In an effort to offer
women of the 80’s fashion
that slides easily from season
to season and year to year,
they have created clothing
devoid of trendy, gimmics,
opting instead for elegance
and simplicity. Equally right
today or tomorrow, a limited
edition Booiman Schueler
ensemble is an investment in
a fashionable future.

Amid this season’s confu-
sion of pastels, acid brights
and drab Japanese darks, the
Booiman Schueler color
palette for summer revolves
around a quiet selection of
soft natural tones including
off-white, cream, biscuit and
black.

Subtle textures interpreted
in raw Tussah silk, Pongee
