Lynn Valley MG Builders waited until
the second half of their Division 4
Premier soccer game before exploding
for two goals to down Burdett Beavers 2-

In a close very hard fought North
Shore Soccer League game Saturday.
both teams remained scoreless until 10
minutes into the second half when John
Buchanan notched a goal, assisted by
Chris Gray.

Excellent defensive work by Corin
Hopkin, playing right fullback for the
Beavers and Scott Leshage at center
fullback for the Builders kept the score
down. Both teams had been undefeated
going to the match.

Andy McLennan scored the Beavers
second goal on a penalty shot.

Both coaches said this was a- very hard
fought game with the two teams playing
well.

In Division Three Premier soccer
action, the Burdett Beavers shutout the
Viking Chargers 3-0.

Two of the Burdett goals came from
Kelly Smith and one goal by Mike
Mullen with asststs going to Robbie Paul
and Mark Doherty. Darrin Dunbar
played an exceptional game for the
Viking Chargers at right back.

A strong game was played by Chris
Price at centre back for the Burdetts and
Darren Beckett recorded the shutout.

Capilano Thunderbirds beat the Mt.
Seymour Cougars 5-1! in Division Six
Premier action.

The Cougars had it tough from the
Start with only nine boys showing up,
making the outcome inevitable. Sport-
smanship still prevailed as Capilano
loaned the Cougars a player for the
game. .

The Cougars lone goal came late in the
second half, scored by Graham Mat-
thew.

Chris Franko played an excellent game
for the Mt. Seymour squad at center
back. John Begg was hot for the winning
side, notching a hat trick.
