removed letter grades’ and replaced
them with anecdotal’ report cards,

The ministry recently amended

its regulations to permit the use of |

- symbols or letter grades on inter-
. mediate report cards.

If a district chooses not to ‘use.

the authorized. ministry symbols,
then it may apply tot use its own
symbols.

weekend, an increase of more
than 10% over the same period

From Wednesday, June 30 to
Sunday, July 4, BC Ferries carried

vehicles on the three major routes
between Vancouver Island and the

_mainland. That compares with
220,860. passengers and 68,551
during the same Wednesday
through Sunday period in 1992.

them.

Part of the proposed: ‘report
card would mark ‘‘lifelong learn-
ing skills’ such as attendance,
behavior, group work, quality
production and attitude. .
