vinyl floor over top without

or should we put down a new

underlayment?

Most vinyl or linoleum floors have embossed patterns or

a designs of some kind. Because of the embossed design it

is or advisable to lay new flooring over the old without prepa-
ration as the design will telegraph up through the face of the
new floor causing an unsightly surface. For best results wash
the old floor with a dewaxing solution such as treewax wax
stripper or tri-sodium phosphate. Then apply with a flat rrowel
a coat of Rediprep premixed underlay, filling only the pattern
embossment and allow 12 hours curing time before laying new
