“The noise the whole sum-
mer has been just atrocious, just
horrible,” said Baker.

The reason for the noise
pollution is an enormous con-
struction project on his block.
It involves the erection of a
17,000 sq. ft. house.

“They tell me their master
bedroom is going to be 5,000
square fect — what’s the matter

asked Baker. “It’s not been a
pleasant summer and _ last
Saturday I just lost my cool.”

In his anger, Baker fired off
a letter to West Vancouver's
mayor and council.

“Fortunately Mother
Nature has provided us with the
best summer weather in the
past 30 ycars that we have lived
in our present home,” wrote
Baker to the councillors.

incident that involved
the brandishing of a
knife in Caulfeild.

West Vancouver Police
Sgt. Jim Almas said the inci-
dent began when a 16-vear-
old girl walked home trom
the bus at the Caulfeild
Shopping Centre at 3:30
p.m.

Almas said a ceenage doy
who the girl did not know
approached her.

The boy talked with the
girl and follawed her to her
home.
