Japanese college presents
$2,000 gift to District 44

District 44 School Board
formally acknowledged the
receipt of a $2,000 gift from
the Canadian International
College parent group at its
Nov. 24 mecting.

The cheque had been presented
to District 44 representative Ed-
ward Collins by a Japanese parent
at the International College’s Oct.
24 open house.

The open house marked five
years that the college has been at
its 2420 Dollarton Hwy. location

At the open house. college
president Dr. fan) Andrews
described the contributions the
North Vancouver community has
made to the college and its stu-
dents, and the liaison that has de-
veloped with North Vancouver
schools.

The purpose of the donation is
to provide the Leo Marshall Cur-
ticulum Centre with funds to
assist in the purchase of books or
other educational materials on
Japan for elementary school
teachers and their students.
