24 - Sunday, September 1, 1991 - North Shore News Coho fest planning several events THE WEST Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and the Coho Festi- val Society are hosting a breakfast on Thursday, Sept. 5 to mark the beginning of the twelfth annual Coho Festival. The breakfast, which is being held at Hollyburn Country Club, 950 Cross Creek Rd., West Van- couver will bring together North Shore leaders from government, business, education and the arts with community members inter- ested in the future of fisheries in local waterways. And experts in sports, commercial and technical fisheries fields will offer their dif- fering viewpoints. Seating is limited and organizers Suggest reservations. Tickets are available at the Eaton's ticket of- fice located at the south mall of Park Royal Shopping Centre, North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce, and by calling 926- 6614, or 926-7311. Other activities being offered in connection with the Coho Festival include exhibitions and enter- tainment at two major shopping centres on the North Shore. West Coast ambiance is the theme of this year’s festival art shows, which are-hosted by North Shore school students, and pres- ented at Park Royal Shopping Centre (PRSC) and Capilano Mall from Thursday, Sept. 5 to Sun- day, Sept. 8. In additon, PRSC will feature ongoing exhibits by government agencies and fishery organizations, along with a giant 50—foot in- flatable salmon. Among the highlights at PRSC on Saturday, Sept. 7 are displays and performances by local Indian groups. North Shore students will also be holding their ‘Tag Day’’ to raise funds for equipment and supplies for over 80 classroom aquariums, and CHQM_ Radio 1320 will be broadcasting live from the mall. Organizers are eager to remind the public about the Coho Walk taking place on Sunday, Sept. 8.
